一般的にイベント（ここでは企業主催のイベントやセミナー、展示会など）では、事前登録を受け付ける方式と、当日来場時に受付する方式があります。

事前登録を促すことによる主催者の方に対するメリットについて考えてみます。

### そもそも、「イベントの事前登録」って何？

現在、イベントに参加するためには入場料が①完全有料、②完全無料、③事前登録すれば無料で当日申込なら有料など、様々なチケットの種類があります。事前登録は、こうしたイベントの参加をイベント当日前に受け付けることで、WEBでの申込みの他にも電話やFAX、メール返信での申込方式など様々な方法が使われています。企業イベントなどでは事前登録が一般的ですが、無料の展示会などの場合は事前登録がないものも数多くありますし、有料のイベントの場合は、当日参加費を徴収するケースも見られます。

 

### 事前登録のメリット

事前登録を促すことのメリットとして、主催者の方にとっては以下のような点が挙げられます。

1. 事前登録方法をWEB登録にすることで、データ管理が効率化できる。
2. イベント開催前に来場予定数の予測ができる。
3. 申込登録時にアンケート項目を用意すれば、イベント開催前に来場者属性がわかる。
4. 事前登録を無料にし、当日申込を有料にするなど入場料の工夫をすることで、事前登録数が増える。
5. 有料イベントの場合、WEB上で事前登録時に決済機能があれば、当日現金のやりとりがなく、当日の受付時間の短縮化ができる。

一方事前登録のデメリットとしては、参加者の方の入力の手間が挙げられますが、入力時に項目を最低限の数に絞ることでそのストレスは減らすことができますし、事前登録をすることでイベント当日スムーズに入場することができれば、参加者の方にとっても快適な体験となるはずです。

### 最後に

イベントは一度開催して終わりではなく、イベント終了後の来場結果報告から、来場者へのアフターフォロー、次回のイベントにおけるコンテンツの見直しなど、イベントを契機に継続したタスクが関わっています。参加者の申込受付を効率的に一元管理することは、非常に有効な手段だと言えます。
