最近のイベントでは、会場に来場者が使えるネットワーク回線が整備されることも増えてきました。さて、このネット回線ですが、会場によって状況は様々です。どのように整備すれば良いのでしょうか。

 

### イベント主催者（運営）用と参加者用で、ネット回線が必要かを考える

ネット環境については、主催者（運営）用と参加者用それぞれについて、その必要性を検討しましょう。

＜主催者（運営）用＞

- 登壇者はネット回線を利用するか？
- （出展者がいる場合）出展者はネット回線を利用するか？
- 受付やその他の箇所でネット回線を利用するか？

 

＜参加者用＞

- 参加者はネット回線を利用したい層が多いか？

 

 

### 会場の環境を確認する

ネット環境の整備状態については、会場によって様々です。主なパターンは以下のようなもの。

| 1. 会場用ネット回線は公共で誰でも使えるようになっている（無料） 2. 会場用ネット回線の利用には事前申請が必要（有料） 3. 会場用ネット回線はあるが、構築（引き回し）が必要 4. 会場用ネット回線はない ※1, 2 の場合は、有線LAN/無線LANそれぞれについて確認が必要です。 |

#### **1. 会場用ネット回線は公共で誰でも使えるようになっている（無料）**

とりあえずネット回線が確保できるので安心ですが、来場者が多い場合はアクセスポイントにアクセスが集中し、ネットの速度が遅くなったり、場合によってはつながらなくなったりします。その場合、登壇者や受付など、主催者側の運営に支障が出ることがあります。そうした心配があるような規模のイベントの場合は、登壇者や出展者用に有線LANを用意したり、規模が本当に大きくなる場合は主催者用に別途ネット回線を用意する必要があるケースも出てきます。

#### **2. 会場用ネット回線の利用には事前申請が必要（有料）**

この場合、大抵その会場キャパに合わせた環境が用意されています。ただし、費用がかかるケースがほとんどなので、イベント運営のコストとなります。イベント関係者以外の方とネット回線を共用しないので、1 のケースよりは安定している場合が多いです。

#### **3. 会場用ネット回線はあるが、構築（引き回し）が必要**

この場合は、会場内の構築を主催者側でする必要があります。会場に相談をすると、構築をしてくれる会社を紹介してくれることがあります。構築も、LANケーブルを使って有線LANの引き回しをする場合と、無線LANルーターなどを用意し無線LAN環境を構築する方法があります。いずれにしても専門知識が必要となる作業となります。

#### **4. 会場用ネット回線はない**

自由に使えるネット回線はないけれども、イベント用に回線を引くことができる場合があります。イベント会場の配電盤まで光回線などが来ている場合です。その場合は、会場がその旨を教えてくれますので、NTTへ連絡し、イベントの期間中回線を引きたい旨を伝え、手配を進めましょう（いずれにしても 3 のような構築の作業は必要です）。

それもない場合は、自前のポータブルWiFiやレンタルWiFiを利用することになります。ただし、こうしたポータブルWiFiは地下の会場などではつながりにくかったり、圏外になってしまうこともあります。事前に実機で確認をするようにしましょう。また、イベント当日は来場者の方が自分のポータブルWiFiを使うこともあり、ネットワーク回線が混在し、つながりにくくなることもあります。

 

無線LANはその時の状況によって接続が不安定となります。既設の無線LANがある場合は、参加者の方のポータブルWiFiの利用をご遠慮いただくよう促しているイベントも増えてきています。

スムーズなイベント運営に、ネットワーク回線の確保は必須となってきています。参加者の方々にストレスをかけないためにも、事前に会場とも相談をし、どのようにするかを決めておくのが良いと思います。
