イベントの開催日が近付くと、参加者から申込をキャンセルしたいとお問い合わせが入ることがあります。イベント会期直前、「返金は可能か？」「返金方法は？」「手数料はかかるのか？」といった質問の対応に追われた経験のある方は多いのではないでしょうか？事前にキャンセルポリシーを定めて運用方針を決めておくと、開催直前の慌ただしい中でも、キャンセルについての問い合わせにスムーズに対応することが可能です。また、キャンセルの対応可否にまつわるトラブルの防止にもつながります。今回は、有料チケットのキャンセルポリシーについて、設定のポイントと参考文例をご紹介します。

イベントマーケティングでは、企業がマーケティング施策として自社セミナーやイベントを開催する場合、その目的の一つに自社商品やサービスに対する認知を広げ、リードを獲得することが挙げられます。リードを獲得し、イベント終了後になんらかのアプローチをおこない、リードを有効な見込顧客となるようにコミュニケーションを取ることは、イベントへの申込者/来場者に対する重要なアクションです。イベント開催前から具体的なアプローチを設計しておくことで、イベント終了後すぐに最適なターゲットを絞り、最適なコミュニケーションをおこなうことができます。

展示会や数千人規模のイベントの場合、出展社や協賛社がつくケースがほとんどです。それによりイベント主催者はイベントにかかる経費（会場費や設営、スタッフ代、そのほか様々な経費）をまかないます。さらに有料イベントの場合は、イベント参加のためのチケット代金も収入源となり、事業としてイベントを開催している企業はそれらの収支で黒字とすることで、イベントが継続して開催されることとなります。
